Crane mats have, historically, presented as a very difficult product to recycle due to their hard-wood construction and heavy metal bolts.  Both laminated mats and crane mats were often discarded upon project completion. Blackwood uses a variety of recycling applications for all non-treated hardwood mats.  Mats can be processed to size for sludge solidification and used in the production of biochar: both processes ensure that the mats are safely and sustainable recycled.
